What's the proper amount to tip someone at a drive in?

I like going to the Sonic but there is always that one drawback..how much do you tip the server? Is it according to your order amount (%) or how well you were served? I normally tip a buck, but I don't want to undertip or overtip especially when I only order a drink on the go.
