Husband has a vasectomy and he is so sore is this normal?

My husband is 27 and we have 3 kids and decided it was enough and that we were done having kids so he volunteered to have a vasectomy and that it would be easier for him to have something like this done then for me to have it done. Well he had it done yesterday and he is still really sore and i know he is hiding it, it from me and i am just honestly super worried about him to be honest he has the rest of the week off which is a plus i suppose but he went to bed at like 5pm and that is honestly a rarity for him because he is such a huge night owl. And he didn't even say good night to our kids or me. Is this normal? Advice?
