I would like to know how do you take full-body picture when using a digital camera?

I have a Optimus Digital Camera 5:1.I would like to take full body pictures but the camera will not show my entire body.I even tried to use a tripod and it still does not work.Im getting tired of taking close up pictures.what am I doing wrong,I even used a small screen resolution.If anybody has any advice can you please help me.Thanks.
