My boyfriend is 25 and acting like he is 12! Should I stay or should I go?

So my boyfriend who is 25 and I am 21 have been together for a little over 6 months now. We have not had yet because I am just waiting for the right time. We made plans to go on vacation and had paid for the plane tickets and the security deposit for the room. 2 weeks before we were supposed to go I did something stupid. We had came to my house and I turned the television on and there was a show on that my ex really liked. I texted my ex telling him that this show was on. My boyfriend heard my phone go off and was like ooo who's that? So I told him that it was my ex and I denied it at first that I texted him but then like a minute later I had told him the truth because I felt bad lying. Well he ended up getting really mad and left my house. So days went on and we were still hanging out but things weren't going great. Well a day before our trip he says that he doesn't want to go. So we ended up not going on our trip because of the text I sent my ex. If I tell my boyfriend that oh it was just a text calm down. He gets livid!! He doesn't see it as just a text he sees it as a whole other thing. He does not think that I should be thinking about my ex while laying in bed with him. He was also really pissed because we had mad a promise that we would not text our exes in front of one another and I broke that promise. It has been 3 weeks now and I still feel annoyed by this. My family and friends say I should leave him and I know I should listen to them deep down. I just wanted to see how other people felt about it so hopefully you guys can help me out. Thanks for reading this looong thing! Oh! one more thing now he won't even come to my house cuz he knows that my parents are mad at him!
